America has begun the transition to a clean energy future and ENERGY STAR is helping lead the way, ensuring the most impactful energy saving home upgrades are accessible to everyone, particularly low-to-moderate (LMI) income households. To engage them effectively, C+C conducted primary research with LMI audiences, including 30 online interview triads in English and Spanish. C+C leveraged insights from this research to design and launch a campaign around ENERGY STAR Day 2023, an annual day to promote the benefits of saving energy among low-income customers. The research helped the integrated campaign significantly exceeded expectations. The lower 50% of household incomes targeted in the campaign drove the most clicks and were the most likely to engage with the content. The 50,000+ visits to the site significantly exceeded expectations and the completed video views were 93% more than planned.
