JGPR responded on July 3, 2020 to South Shore Plaza Mall to assist the Braintree Police Department and the Town of Braintree after shots were fired inside the mall. On the scene, JGPR handled media logistics and coordinated press conferences, as well as worked with the police department, fire department and mall management to gather information on the situation, injuries, suspects and more for media release. Our work at the scene ensured that police were able to focus on securing the scene, the investigation and the safety of the community. In the following days, JGPR worked to update the media on the arrest and charges stemming from the incident. We also organized an additional press conference for the police and mayor to provide an update on the investigation, answer questions and discuss mall security. Media coverage on the incident was far and wide across Boston, New England and nationally.
